Updated Formalities Manual
The Intellectual Property Office of Singapore (IPOS) has updated the Patents Formalities Manual on 11 April 2024 to provide updated information on changes in practices and processes, as well as to clarify certain areas of guidance. The updated information includes:
- Introduction of World Intellectual Property Organisation (WIPO) standard ST.26 for sequence listings;
- Clarification on the requirement for the submission of a copy of Non-Patent Literature for Request for Examination relying on International Search Reports issued by IPOS as International Searching Authority (ISA);
- Addition of new Patent Prosecution Highway (PPH) pilot programme with Saudi Authority for Intellectual Property (SAIP) and Collaborative Search and Examination (CS&E) pilot programme;
- Revision on procedures for PPH requests after the submission of S&E requests;
- Revision on the mode of submission for requests for Composition of an offence to IPOS Digital Hub; and
- Revision on the refund policy for withdrawn search and/or Examination requests.
